And yes, I realize this is a rather large nutshell. Just go with me, here. 🙂
This used to be StoneRose’s Valley….and, in many ways, it still is and always will be. StoneRose is me…a tough exterior, but fragile and, just maybe, beautiful on the inside.
Most people probably are a StoneRose. What you see at first glance isn’t always the truth of the person…’a rose by any other name’ and ‘a book by it’s cover’, and all that jazz.
The Valley part, well….this quote from Oswald Chambers basically sums it up: “We are not built for the mountains and the dawns and aesthetic affinities, those are for moments of inspiration, that is all. We are built for the valley, for the ordinary stuff we are in, and that is where we have to prove our mettle….The moments on the mountain tops are rare moments, and they are meant for something in God’s purpose.”
So, StoneRose Valley will still live on, but my focus has shifted just a bit. There will always be a valley to walk through, the majority of our time spent there, and not on the mountaintops.
But now, I look at hope….Hope To Inspire.
Hope to inspire….what does it mean? Well you may ask. This blog and it’s title are born of many things; hope not the least. Hope that someday…a brighter day lies waiting tomorrow. Hope…faith, and those things unseen. Hope in Christ, that He is faithful. Hope that one day I may “hope to feel or inspire affection again”.
But that is my life right now. Hope. Inspiration. Thoughts, dreams, goals, even irritations. Those things that make us human: fear, sorrow, joy, pain, love, faith…and hope.
But, as Jane says,
“Those who tell their own story must be listened to with caution….[for] seldom, very seldom, does complete truth belong to any human disclosure; seldom can it happen that something is not disguised, or a little mistaken.”
From Sanditon and Emma
Jane was incredibly wise….I hope to learn from her example. As you would be well to do. Sift what you hear…think on it, determining the truth in it…and then, only then, may I hope to inspire you.
In my mid twenties (already?!), I am living in a five-bedroom ranch house with my parents and siblings. After pursuing (or maybe I should say-after the start of a pursuence of) a degree in Music Education, I felt that wasn’t the direction the Lord had in mind for my life. For quite some time, I had no idea what direction He wanted me to go in, but, slowly, bit by bit and one step at a time, God has been showing me where to walk (Heb. 11:8-10). He has placed a real cry on my heart for biblical womanhood. And so, I’m seeking Him here from the beginning-in the home He placed me in, trying to submit myself to the authority and wisdom of the parents He blessed me with and chose to place over me. It’s not an easy road, but then, nothing in life worth getting is ever easy.
I’m a country girl. I love the smell of horses, and cattle; and manure. I love thunderstorms, and tracking through the pastures and creeks with my jeans, hat, and boots on.
I also love dressing up; including classy-chic clothing, jewelry and makeup. I love nice restaurants and the theatre. Jane Austen and the like are some of my favorite authors.
Music is one of the greatest passions of my life. It is my way of expressing myself. Through music, one can see into the soul.
Beauty and poetry are expressed through many things by many different people….As well as music, I use flowers to express the two.
I love my bible study girls; they are a source of inspiration and hope to me. I am so glad God led me to them.
I love my sisters….all seven of them…even those other five gals!! 😉
I am one of eight kids; and I have five (actually, I believe it’s six-God knows) brothers. You do the math.
I love to read; and to write even more so.
Brilliant humor and quotes are something that I couldn’t live without. I just wish they came as easily to me as other folks…lol
I am a Christian. To be totally in love with Christ and to be used by Him is the great desire of my life.
Joy is essential to the life of a believer…if Christ is indeed in us, then all that we do, our bodies and very lives, should radiate the peace, love, and JOY of the Lord through us. May God be glorified in us.
God’s Word (The Holy Bible) is the ultimate authority of how to live…there is nothing untrue to be found in it. We should spend time within these pages daily if we wish to grow closer to and more like our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
So perhaps, I may use this blog to express those things that make me who I am.
I’ll see you on the homepage. 🙂
