There are lots of good quotes out there….tons of them…but I have to choose one.

So I choose one that has long been one of my favorite quotes ever; one I have here on my sidebar, from Oscar Wilde via Mabel Chiltern (Minnie Driver):

“To look at a thing is quite different from seeing it; for one does not see anything, until one sees it’s true beauty.”

It’s so true…we all look at many things throughout the many days of our lives…but few of us truly see what we are looking at.

When I first heard this, I was so impacted, that I went out the next day, lay flat on my stomach on a grassy knoll, and simply stared at a blade of grass for hours. I walked away that day knowing more about beauty than what I had learned in a lifetime before that.

We rarely truly see people, as well as things. We look at them all the time, but until you see the beauty that is hidden inside, until you’ve taken the time to know them on that level, you’ve not seen them.
I feel like people do that to me a lot…just look at me, never truly seeing.
But more importantly, do I do that to them? Too often, the answer is yes. It takes time, and commitment to really see someone, to find the beauty inside.

Some people are masters at seeing. If you know one, watch them;, take notes even, if that’s your thing. But learn the secret of seeing from them. Because it’s well worth it.

Florida; Day Three

We had a delicious (Mrs H is an AMAZING cook! And the girls are pretty good, too!) breakfast with the family (Mr. H had just gotten in from a business trip the night before), and finally got out the door (you guessed it!) around 12pm! As Evelyn told Tim early in our visit….it is an extremely difficult thing to get 6 women out the door! lol

We met the guys (Tim, Ben, and Tripp–cutest little Welsh Corgi ever! Am I partial to dogs? Uhhh….maybe) at the boat dock. Ben very graciously allowed us on his boat (which in hindsight may not have been his best move, given what the three of us P girls could have done to his very nice boat…lol), and along with Jessi, had a very leisurely stroll (only, what do you call that when you’re in a boat instead of walking?) through the bay until we got to the wide open ocean. While on our way, we got to see a dolphin…and I missed the sting ray. Honestly, I hardly saw the dolphin…but I’m not admitting that publicly. πŸ™‚

Being on the beach is always a newish and exciting experience for us (seeing as we’ve only been about four or so times before–not counting the visits to Corpus Christi as wee little bairns), so doing so on a boat? We were in high heaven! It was a completely wonderful experience; put a totally new spin on our previous beach outings…on the outside looking in…or perhaps inside looking out, depending on the way you want it. πŸ™‚

She pretends to be an angel…

But even she can’t keep the facade up forever!

Jessi’s such a sweetheart…plus, she looks like a movie star. πŸ™‚ I would be jealous if I were capable of such an emotion…

I don’t know how it is, but these girls look gorgeous all the time! Come fair or foul, it doesn’t matter…I think it’s an accurate reflection of you they are on the inside.
Jessi really is an amazing woman…this girl is completely devoid of any mean bone in her body. She is the sweetest, most positive person I know!

Gaby is so cute! She’s a completely awesome talent when it comes to photography….check out Glimpses of Purity! She also has an amazing sense of humor…and killer instinct for picking out great music! πŸ™‚

Evelyn is truly inspirational; she’s a go-getter, totally, when the time comes for something, she doesn’t hesitate. She’s very relatable, the sort of person who encourages you to be/do better, just by being herself.

We took several tries at this thing, but something about hair and speed….didn’t quite mesh. But she’s so cute anyway! πŸ™‚

Tim is Evelyn’s beloved…the two of whom, I am more than thrilled to report, are since engaged! He’s a really great guy…and I’m not just saying that because he didn’t sink us all! πŸ˜‰

Ben is Tim’s brother…and the owner of the great boat! He was very generous to allow us P girls this great adventure; we had a blast! He, like Tim, is also aΒ  great guy, and we had a lot of fun hanging out with them all.

There were some great views…

Tripp got to enjoy them from the most strategic position on the boat.

I absolutely love this photo!

We spent some time on the beach…playing frisbee & softball, and eating lunch; afterwards we decided to go ‘exploring’. We soon weighed anchor and set out to conquer two small islands (I’m sure there’s another term for what we were on, but it beats me).

The two love birds were like this most of the time…it was quite sweet!

I am beyond words excited for this great couple. I look forward to seeing what God does in their lives together and how He uses them to His glory.

I’m not quite sure what Hope was doing here…but she looks cute doing it…whatever ‘it’ is. πŸ™‚

Β

Sometimes, all we could do was take in the majesty of God’s creation.

She’s adorable!

I love this pic of Gaby! She’s such a sweetheart!

Over-exposed? Yes…so this picture does not do her justice, but I love her smile!

We did a LOT of shell gathering…they all were great, and aided us by scavenging themselves; we came home with a good many nice shells, most of which were given to us by better shell-hunters than ourselves!

Coming back from exploring ‘the other side’.

The beaches were simply gorgeous! The sand was extremely fine, and the water sparkled like crystal…it really took my breath away.

This must be their ‘Survivors’ pose….. πŸ˜‰

We had the amazing pleasure of seeing a manatee! That was so cool! Unfortunately, I never got a good picture…

What’s wrong? You don’t believe me?!

I told you there was one! πŸ˜‰

The H girl have been to Hawaii, and they said the beach there at Marco was comparable…I completely fell in love.

Oh, my goodness! There’s a body in the water! Oh, wait….that’s just Gaby. πŸ˜‰

The water was amazingly clear; can you see the shell fragments at the bottom, there?

Another of my favorite pictures…just can’t get enough of the water or the H girls!

Tim and Ben brought the boat around to the other side for us.

Kat and Jessi get along great; they have a lot of similarities.

Hope and Gaby have been calling each other weekly for the last several months, so they were able to pick right up!

Time to head back; amazingly great day that was surprisingly not over yet!

While Ben, Jessi, and Gaby brought the boat back around to the dock (a slow journey, but worth it!), Tim and Evelyn brought the three of us to a plaza of sorts…was a beautiful place. We gals walked around a bit, while Tim found a bench to wait it out and give us girls some time together (I personally think he was tired of sharing Evelyn with a bunch of crazy girls, and needed the time to regain his sanity! ;)).

There was a nice little boating dock there, as well.

We then met the other three at the dock, and then, while Ben brought his boat home and cleaned it (by himself–I still feel bad about that), the rest of us (seven) squeezed into a five-person car to go back home. Evelyn cooked an amazing meal (which Ben came over for after he finished), and we talked, joked around, and had fun in general just hanging with young people again. We also played some Mario Kart on Wii, complete with relay’s/tournaments–was a good bit of fun, even though I struggled to adjust to the Wii controllers (my brothers’ have Xbox…quite different). We headed back to the plaza-whatever for Coldstone ice cream and smoothies (I had a great bananna-raspberry smoothie), and to watch the sunset…which had pretty much already set by the time we got there. πŸ™‚

If these folks look a bit crazy…well, we did spend a great deal of time out in the sun, with probably not as much drinking water as we should have had…. lol
I can just be super glad that I was on this side of the camera!!! lol

Twilight at the dock. Was another really beautiful sight.

The great people we hung out with!

This was probably the best-first-long-girls-trip ever in the history of girl trips! πŸ™‚

We so enjoyed all the fun there…but more than that, was the company and spiritual encouragement. I came back feeling more refreshed, passionately alive, and on fire for the Lord than I have for years. Those girls down there are well and truly my sisters…as someone said, we have the bond of ‘kindred spirits’. No, we don’t agree with each other on everything; yes, we’d probably want to boil each other alive at times if we spent a prolonged amount of time together (shockingly, these girls insist that they’re not perfect! I never would have guessed! lol)….but we share our Lord in common, as well as quite a few other things, and the desire to follow Christ wherever that might be. I am grateful beyond words for the love, the kindredship, that God has given the six of us; and I look forward to many more years of growing in our relationships together!

One more post on Florida coming soon…but without many pictures.
Will be putting the above pics (and possibly more!) on my facebook, so if you’re my friend, you can see them there!

Florida; Day 2

Since we’d stayed up so late the night before, we all slept in on Friday…then we sorta dragged ourselves around, and finally made it out the door to go eat lunch downtown and do some window shopping…

We ate at this really neat Japanese/Thai restaurant downtown…I forget the name. And I hear that the food is pretty awesome, too. πŸ™‚

Β

We shared samples….KattyRae ordered some something-curry, and it was pretty good. Jessi had something called (I think) a California Sushi Roll…incredibly awesome of her to share, but I think, in retrospect, that it was only by God’s amazing, saving grace that I am still alive today…victorious, having survived my first (and hopefully only) sushi experience.

Evelyn’s Tuna Roll was slightly better (given the fact that I love tuna), but still….how much can one love raw fish? Even if it is tuna….I did survive that one, too.

Hope ordered some shrimp (surprise, surprise!) something…which was OK. But Gaby…ooh, Gaby ordered the perfect dish. If ever I go back, I’m going with some sane choice like that…unfortunately, all I remember was Salmon. But I do know that it was cooked, and that’s good enough for me. That dish was delicious. I had ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken…I’ve never cared for that, but I figured I’d better wait until I tried an authentic ethnic restaurant that served that before making my final declaration on the subject. My chicken turned out to be quite good (it was still chicken), pleasant surprise, but I still think Gaby’s dish earned the highest marks.

After lunch, we ambled down the street. Saw some cute shops, including an awesome Wind in the Willows place (check out KattyRae’s blog for some pics of that), and went inside a place called Best of Everything (???? Jessi, help me out here!! lol). That was a nice little shop, and I finally found a choker/necklace to hang my sand dollar on.

After the shop, we (being the H girls, as my sisters and I were soaking everything up and were just along for the ride ;)) decided that we needed to go ahead and head down to ‘the compound’ (this is what my sister keeps calling it, and for the life of me I can’t remember anything other to refer to it by) where Tim’s brother worked.

That place was awesome…really. Beautiful, beautiful grounds; was a little sad, because the owner was hardly ever there, and the place wasn’t kept up to all it could have been (but really, you get a place that size, how can any of those be kept up?)…still, it was absolutely breathtaking in its present state. Had a slightly eerie quality to it that was mesmerizing. And the animals…wow. There were all sorts; swans, peacocks, donkeys, various birds, lemurs, a wallaby, and monkeys. Those monkeys were adorable…and completely creepy. If you’ve known my sisters and I long, you know that there is this weird sort of fascination between us and monkeys. I think we sort of got through that with the babies…sweet little things that they were…most of the time.

Molly was my favorite…it didn’t help matters that I upset Precious when I refused to let her take my earring, and she spent quite some time upbraiding me for that inconsiderate gesture. Molly, though, was a real cutie-pie. She loved to sit on the back of your neck, and prop her hands on the top of your head…could be embarrassing to some, but I thought it was great! lol Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures of that…

After the monkeys, Ben let us use the gator and golf carts to ‘explore’ the grounds. Was very cool, and rather more comfortable than riding around on ATV’s such as we’re used to. We also played Hide & Seek…but Kat, Jessi, and I soon grew tired of waiting to be found.

Some of the peacocks wandering about the place…there was a gorgeous albino one, but I never got a picture.

Afterwards, that evening, Tim and Evelyn got pizza, and we all hung out at Ben’s place for supper. Josh and Alisha had come out as well, and a friend of Alisha’s, Betsy. It was really nice to just be able to hang out with people close to our own age, and not have to worry about all the weirdness of “why don’t you go to college”, “you do what?”, etc… (though they may have been thinking it. lol)…it was nice to have conversations that did not revolve around classes, work, and (others’) family…not bad things, and please don’t get me wrong, I love hearing about what’s going on in your life (so don’t stop talking about those things)…but just to have other things to talk about, even trivial stuff, that doesn’t make us wonder ourselves whether we’re crazy or not, or even discontent about where we are in life. They were just folks like ourselves dealing with everyday life issues.

Ben had two guitars, and Gaby has a ukulele (now that was cool to listen to!!), so naturally Hope soon found herself playing one. That girl needs a guitar in her hands to be completely herself, sometimes it seems…they’re just such a part of her. Ben played both, some; I thought he was quite good. And I was chastised (again) that I was not more diligent in my studies in guitar…at least my guitar is going to good use in my brothers hands. We played/sang about two praise songs, which was so refreshing, just to remember that even in the midst of the wonderful times, God is almighty and He is worthy of all glory at all times…He is the reason we breathe. And while I struggled a bit with the low range, I found out afterwards that it was too high for most of them to be comfortable with. I was, I confess, a bit flabbergasted at that…I can’t go much lower myself, so is strange to think that others can (I wish I could—oh, how cool would it be to have a bass voice!! ;)). Next time, we know. I think Hope and I both would have loved to play and sing some more during the trip…and Kat…we’d been missing our praise and worship, and the opportunity to gather with other believers for that outside of Sunday mornings. But just that little bit was a gift from God, so that we could in turn give it back unto Him.

That pretty much concluded our Friday. There was too much to post Friday and Saturday together (plus, I’m too tired to do another day tonight!), so they’re getting their own individual posts. I’m sure they’re much happier that way, anyway. lol

Florida; Road Trip & Day One

Where do I begin? This trip was truly amazing, and for me, life changing. God addressed so many things, big things, in my life during this trip. He used the people there, circumstances, scripture, and His Holy Spirit to convict me, gently, of areas in my life that need Him. See my previous post for an example.

But this post is about pictures, the truly amazing people, and what exactly we did down there….scratch that. This post is part ONE of THREE…there was no way I was going to be able to fit the whole trip under one post. You’d totally get bored and skip the whole thing instead of just 65%. πŸ˜‰ lol

Hope started out driving at 3:45 am on Wednesday (not yesterday, but the week before); I got to be her navigator, and KattyRae took the first shift of sleep. Soon enough, though, I was forced into the back, leaving those two totally irresponsible peeps up front on their own. πŸ˜‰

I never had the opportunity (or misfortune, some might say) of sincerely regretting this arrangement, so that was a positive. πŸ™‚

We finally made it to the state of Florida…and of course, we had to stop to record this historic event.

It is true, the sun ISΒ  shinier down there!

We had a bit of trouble taking a group picture of ourselves by ourselves…let’s just say, my arms are not very long. And after numerous tries…

We took turns after that…

My sisters do sometimes need to be separated…

We had originally planned to arrive by 8:30pm…but our GPS told us it would be a whole hour earlier. After we called our friends to expect us then, we decided to make a slight detour around 6:45pm for gas and a quick Walmart stop. That ‘quick’ detour/stop turned into a 45 minute episode. Once we finally hit the road again, behind schedule, we kept wondering and driving, as our arrival time passed and our destination point didn’t appear. At last, we realized that our smart GPS wasn’t so smart after all…while I had assumed that since it used satellite it would have automatically taken the time change into affect, I had assumed incorrectly. So we finally arrived around 9:30pm, after keeping our patient friends waiting two hours. lol

We of course stayed up till 2am or so talking and catching up, then hit the Sanibel beach the next morning.

Hope comes very close to needing a membership at Beachaholics Anonymous.

And while KattyRae is quite attached to her camera, and takes amazing photo’s, there is a surprising lack of photo’s from her. 😦

Sweetheart Jessi

Inspirational Evelyn

Amazing Gaby

We picniced on the beach…

And walked around

Jessi’s Heart. When the sand was scraped away, you discovered a layer of broken shells underneath; it was so cool.

And, Jessi found a crab. See him, that little brown spot between those two white shells?

Kat and Evelyn quickly outpaced the other four of us, who would stop to examine every little thing. A plus of being in the rear…at some point, when it comes time to turn around, you are in the lead. πŸ™‚

The beach was lined with shells and fragments. The actual sand is those dark gray patches…all the rest were shells.

We weren’t going to leave Sanibel without first finding the historic lighthouse…which was surprisingly hard to find for such.

But once we had, it was pretty cool. The beach around the lighthouse was really nice, too.

Once we had found and conquered our quest for the lighthouse, we piled back in the car, and headed straight to the W’s. Tim W. is dating my dear friend, Evelyn, and his parents had very graciously extended their dinner invitation to the girls to include my sisters and I. Their family is so amazing; I had not expected to find such graciousness outside of the deep South (another one of those slaps–remember Thor, I have to keep telling myself), and in many ways it exceeded the traditional hospitable south. Mrs Chris is such a sweet and godly woman; Mr Bruce was very nice; Josh and Alisha were a lot of fun to meet, along with their ‘baby’, Mikka, an American Eskimo; and Tim is a really great guy, I couldn’t be happier that Evelyn and he are dating. They all made us feel very welcome, and at home.

We visited for quite some time there, then finally headed back to the girls house. There, we chatted amongst ourselves, played a little Mario Kart on the Wii ( I primarily watched, as I was quite cautious of Wii, having little to no experience in it, and missing my brothers’ familiar Xbox), and settled in to watch the new Jane Eyre.

Let me tell you something; YOU. MUST. WATCH. IT. Sometime. It was really good…and I need to watch it with you, as I dozed off for about 30 minutes and woke up during the tense time of the movie. That was a little confusing. But I knew the story-line, so I was good. Mia Wasikowska….Jane Eyre, remember that.

By the end of the movie, it was 2am, so we all scurried off to bed. Which reminds me; those precious girls each gave up their rooms for us…Jessi to Kat and Hope, and Evelyn to me…Gaby shared her room with her sisters (and I know how crazy that can be at times!). We were so blessed, but there is no way they are going to do that again; next time we go down, we’re going as sisters, and such behavior is unacceptable. πŸ˜‰

Days “2 & 3”, and “4 & Road Home” coming soon.

VACATION!!!!!!!

Yes, it is coming. A post full of vacation details, pictures, and trivial nonsense. But not tonight, unfortunately. Been working a double shift today, and just got off, so it’s off to bed, John MacArthur, and my Bible I go. After a shower, that is. I did a 30 minute workout this morning, including a 20 minute run out back through the pastures to the forest and around the ‘lake’. That was so refreshing after several days off no exercise other than that required to have fun. Yes, I did take a shower this morning after the run…but I felt so good after that, that I decided to also get back on my interval training this evening between shifts, and did a 30 minute session of that, followed by a walk through the (sticky-don’t ask) pastures with my mom.

Was a good day…tried to catch up on a few things; listened to some amazing teachings by John MacArthur on Joy (suggested by my dear friend, Evelyn, whom you will hear more of in the next post) while working.

So, tomorrow (Lord willing) I’ll post a good one on our awesome trip to Florida…I think it may very well have been my best vacation yet, and you’ll hear why then. πŸ˜‰

Day One, A Favorite Song

That is a tough question to answer. If you know me, you know I LOVE music, so it’s hard to pick just one.

Ever since I first heard this song (then performed by a much younger Damian), I fell in love with it. This song is an echo of my heart….a bird without wings is lost, a world without music is hopeless, and life without loved ones (and Christ, as I feel this song applies to as well) is empty.

“I get so lonely, when you’re away. I count every moment, I wait every day, until you’re home again, and hug me so tight; that’s when I know everything is alright.
Like a bird without wings that longs to be flying. Like a motherless child left lonely and crying. Like a song without words, like a world without music;
I wouldn’t know what to do, I’d be lost without you watchin’ over me.
You’re my guardian angel, my light and my guide. Your hand on my shoulder, and you by my side. You make everything beautiful, you make me complete. Everything in my world, I lay at your feet…”

BUT

I couldn’t just put one song on here….there are far too many to pick from. So I decided that I was going to share with you two songs that are in my favorites list (please note that these are not my two favorite songs ever, I probably have about 9-12 that fit into that category).

My second pick to share with you is just great. Catchy beat and tune, touching lyrics…we all long to have someone who truly cares for us…who was created to be our other half;

“I’ll be waiting for the real thing, I’ll know it by the feeling…So I’ll be holding my breath, right up ’til the end, until that moment when I find the one that I’ll spend forever with.
Cause nobody wants to be the last one there, everyone wants to feel like someone cares. Someone to love with my life in their hands; there’s gotta be somebody for me like that.
Cause nobody wants to do it on their own, and everyone wants to know they’re not alone. There’s somebody else that feels the same somewhere; there’s gotta be somebody for me out there.”

This song has a pretty crazy (and I mean that in a good way!) music video to go along with it, however, embedding was restricted on it. Head over to this youtube video to see it.

So what about it? You have a favorite (or two, hehe!) to share?

30 Posts….yeah, me too.

My sister, KattyRae over at Shades of Grace, is doing this…and, well, I thought it might spur me on to write more often here. So here goes.

A MILLION questions!!!!…….stop being so dramatic, there are only 50.

So, I was tagged by a number of people on this thing going ’round facebook…and I thought, what better way to:

a.) Answer them all
b.) Give you (my blog readers) some insider information on myself
c.) ADVERTISE my blog! Yay!

Ok, so that last one figured in only a miniscule amount. Or whatever.

So here they are; FIFTY RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME.

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
Yes, an older friend/mentor of my moms’ as I understand it. She was a godly woman who loved the Lord….large shoes to fill. My name also means “Song of Joy”; since I was born about ten months after a miscarriage, my mom said it was fitting since God had given my parents something to rejoice in again.

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Seriously? Well, last night after watching Thor…lame, I know, but see my review on the movie, and you’ll see why. He was pretty awesome during that last scene with Jane.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
I’ve been told (and yes, I have to agree) that I have a doctors’ scrawl…meaning my handwriting is hideous and pretty much un-intelligible. If I take my time, I do like my hybrid calligraphy.

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
Turkey. I am NOT a fan of ham…really not. Roast beef is pretty good, though.

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Well….if you’ve paid any attention to my blog, you’d already know the answer to that. Speaking of human kids, then no. I have a dog kiddo, and two cats who also classify in that category. But no KID kids yet. I hope to have quite a few someday; and I’d really like to adopt. A little girl from China, maybe a couple kids from Nigeria or Kenya, a boy from Russia…and I’m not limited to just those. We’ll see.

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
I don’t know. It’d depend on what kind of ‘another person’ I was. But I’d like to think so. Because to admit anything to the contrary would be admitting a deep dislike of myself, or else an insecurity in my habits, opinions, character, appearance, etc….

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM?
Well, yes, I do….quite often. Enough to make myself concerned. I think I should lighten up on it, because sarcasm can really hurt or mislead someone.

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?
Yep…not much to be said there. Now that really was a random question…

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
I don’t know…maybe if someone I really liked was there to spur me on. You see, I hate heights; but I love thrill rides, so if only I could convince myself.

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
It’s been so long since I’ve had cereal that wasn’t of the oatmeal variety….probably something totally not good for you, like frosted flakes or fruit loops, you know, that contraband stuff when we were kids?

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
I usually don’t…but that means I just have to do it when I go to put them back on….does that say something about me? Procrastination…..well, um, moving on!

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
Oooh! Mint Chocolate Chip-Bluebell. Hands down.

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
Their eyes. They’re windows, you know. You can see so much of a person through their eyes.

15. RED OR PINK…
I have to go with red on this one; but not that bright, apple red. I’m more a fan of crimson, or blood red.

16. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
There’s a list a mile long, honey. I have no difficulty in focusing on the negative when it comes to myself…maybe that’s the thing I hate the most. Either that, or the fact that I’m not very compassionate.

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?
That’s an unfair question.
There’s the unmentionable….and then there’s Christine, who’s only been gone six days but it feels like FOREVER already…..I miss my crazy friends from Colorado…I miss the amazingly sweet girls in Florida….and I miss the person I’ve never met.

18. DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO COMPLETE THIS LIST?
What a crazy, random question….it doesn’t even deserve to be answered.

19. WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
Well, I’m wearing forest green shorts….and it’s 12:30 AM; what the heck kind of shoes do you think I’d be wearing?!

21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
The whir of my fan, the keys on my board clicking…and my sisters’ obnoxious dog trying to wake the entire neighborhood.

22. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
Another random question. Umm….dark red?

23. FAVORITE SMELLS?
Baking, fresh flowers, mint, coffee, the air outside when it clears up just before a rain.

24. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
Wouldn’t you like to know? Actually, I’d like to, too….the line was just to fuzzy to make much out.

25. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON(S) WHO SENT THIS TO YOU?
Sure I do, otherwise I wouldn’t be missing them. πŸ™‚
I’ve been so very encouraged by Beka over the past five years as I’ve gotten to know her more; her faith is contagious, her joy is inspiring, her strength, overwhelming.
Beth’s smile could light up the entire world. She is such a joyful woman, and a great friend.
Gosh, how I miss y’all!!

26. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?
I like to watch hockey (it is too a sport!!), I LOVE volleyball…tennis is enjoyable when I get the chance.

27. HAIR COLOR?
I wanted to say something awesome…but just can’t come up with anything. Brown is just too blasΓ©. I’ll go with Bistre, unless I’ve been in the sun a lot, then it’s a sort of chocolate-russet color.

28. EYE COLOR?
I’ve been told hazel…I guess that’s my best answer.

Am I really only to number 28?!!!!!!

29. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
I usually do. Unless I tear a pair, and it happens to be my last because I was putting off (PROCRASTINATION!) ordering my next pair. Then I wear my glasses.

30. FAVORITE FOOD?
Well, pizza has to go down as an all time favorite. And I love mac ‘n’ cheese (the real kind, not that northern fake) ;). Kiwi, strawberry, and watermelon are all spectacular!

31. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
Oh, I’m all down for scary movies…as long as there’s at least a semi happy ending. But I’d much rather go with a Drama, Comedy, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, or Romance than the Horror/Thrillers.

32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
THOR…..awesome movie….see my review.

33. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING?
Gray. It’s one of my favorite ‘casual tee’s’.

34. SUMMER OR WINTER?
Well, I’d say Summer if I were further North…these humid southern summers could be the death of me! Summer on the beach….well, now that’s another thing entirely. Winter is a little more bearable…it’s much easier to be modest in wintertime. And I do love my jackets…but…
I pick Summer in San Destin.

35. HUGS OR KISSES?
I like hershey’s…..they’ve kinda grown on me as I’ve aged…. πŸ˜‰
I’d say kisses…but that’s only gonna happen with one guy, and you ain’t it. So until then, I’ll stick to hugs, thank you very much.

37. MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Another question undeserving of response….

38. LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Uh-huh.

39. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW?
Captivating, for one. I’m always reading Captivating.
I just finished a book by Terri Blackstock in the Newpoint 911 series…was pretty good fiction.
Also reading a new book I ordered, on “Writing Better Lyrics”…I haven’t picked up the “Music Composition for DUMMIES” yet….trying to deny that last bit…..

40. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
No mousepad….but I really like some of those really cute ones out there, like this one, or this relaxing one, or even this one.

41. WHAT DID YOU WATCH ON TV LAST NIGHT?
Umm….THOR doesn’t count….oh, yeah; I saw the end of this really cute, sweet movie where the main character ran a dinner, and had loved this guy since forever, but he only thought of her as a friend (partially cause she was on the slightly heavy side, and partially ’cause she wasn’t exciting! whatever that means….), until he realized how steady, how invaluable, to him she really was. Cheesy, yes. Sweet, definitely.

42. FAVORITE SOUND(S).
Music, water in a brook. I’m getting too tired to think; sorry.

43. ROLLING STONES OR BEATLES?
Probably go with Beatles. They had some epic music.

44. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?
Uh, California. That would have to be it….either that or Philadelphia.

45. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT?
Let’s see, how can I best sing my own praises? lol

46 WHERE WERE U BORN?
Bedford, Texas. Long live the great state of!!

47. WHOSE ANSWERS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING BACK?
Really? Not again!

48. HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR SPOUSE/SIGNIFICANT OTHER?
I’ve got to go with Beka’s answer and say “This information is still pending…”

49. WHAT DO YOU DRIVE?
Well, I no longer have a steady car. So I drive what’s available. Sometimes a Dodge Intrepid….others Lincoln Town Car (Someone, please save me!), and still others it’s a honkin’ big Ford 250.

50. WHAT WAS THE BEST PART OF YOUR DAY?
Getting caught up on some of my writing responsibilities/work.

Well, there you have it. My 50 random answers….though technically I cheated on a few by labeling them ‘unanswerable’.
Hope you enjoyed finding out some new info on me….or maybe it was all stuff you’d heard before.

G’Night!
